Strangely most people want to believe the worst. Seldom do facts matter when you can tell a great story about an evil threat and how your group (whomever that group is) is the only thing standing between evil and the loss of ______.
BTW, please send money to help us in our fight.
Was reading a lament earlier today from someone that has been working their ass off to try to create a middle of the road group within the GOP: honest conservatives with a strong libertarian streak but not given over to hyperbole and appealing to emotion as the reason to do X, Y or Z.
Seems that the rug keeps getting pulled out from under them and/or they are finding a huge number of folks just seem to want to follow the ridiculous … facts are slung all over the place but seldom are the facts factual … and few seem to care.
How do you compete against that?
Paul Ryan’s speech review by Fox News — NOT what you think.
Fox News summarized Ryan’s speech as “Dazzling. Deceiving. Distracting.”
From Fox News: “… to anyone paying the slightest bit of attention to facts, Ryan’s speech was an apparent attempt to set the world record for the greatest number of blatant lies and misrepresentations slipped into a single political speech.”
I agree. I agree as someone that likes Paul Ryan and believe that he has/had a bright future.
Ryan’s speech was more pink slime than red meat. Why didn’t he stick to the facts? He actually made a very good case for not voting for the GOP in November. The GOP has truth issues — not that the Democrats don’t as well BUT the GOP really has some truth issues.
If you want to be believed on one thing then be believable on all things.
Obameter Political Promise Tracker
PolitiFact is a non-partisan tracker of all things political in America. Its self-assigned mission is “… to help you find the truth in American politics. Reporters and editors from the Times fact-check statements by members of Congress, the White House, lobbyists and interest groups and rate them on our Truth-O-Meter.”

Note: This is not an anti-Obama website. I’m sure that you will find your favorite talking head skewered here — whether on the left or right — if they have a tendency to open mouth and to tell tales.
We are a better people and democracy when we point out the obvious — or regrettably must.
If you want me to believe you then tell me the truth.
The following didn’t stretch the truth, they ignored it.
